Learn to Sail Cruise and Learn Courses
Have you ever dreamt of learning to sail a large keelboat? Or thinking of chartering a sailboat for a vacation in the sun?
Maybe you already have a cruising sailboat and want to upgrade your skills,
or you just want a different kind of vacation this year?
Come learn with us. Our "cruise and learn" courses with professional CYA certified Instructors provide a safe, enjoyable sailing vacation in the beautiful 1000 Islands and Prince Edward County regions near Kingston, Ontario in some of the best freshwater sailing areas in the world. These 5-day live -aboard courses exceed Canadian Yachting Association standards. Typically we spend 30 hrs practicing skills and the boat is the classroom for the ashore knowledge.. With ample time to practice and refine your skills and knowledge in a relaxed setting with a student: instructor ratio of 3 or 4:1, the 5-day live-aboard experience is far superior to competing courses offering 4 day sailing or 3 day live aboard.
We are proud to be an Ontario Sailing Association/Canadian Yachting Association member school and our lead instructor/owner actively participates in Curriculum and examination development and in Instructor Training as well as in best practice development for sailing schools.
For all our basic courses we employ highly experienced Instructors certified to a minimum Intermediate instructor standard
For intermediate courses the Instructor is usually certified to Advanced Instructor standard,
Our instructors and boats are fully insured for teaching all courses.
New for 2012 we offer an International Certificate of Competence which is a legal requirement to operate a vessel in European Waters. If you are thinking of chartering in Europe you will need this certificate.(we also offer CENVI endorsement which is required for Inland Waters in Europe.)
